Agree With God Not satan - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) April 14, 2026

The Bible tells us in Job 22:21 - “Agree with God, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you (ESV). Alas, a lot of Believers are failing to agree with God and wondering why their lives are far from the peace promised by Jesus in John 14:27. They are dealing with an absence of regular blessings, favor, and testimonies. This is not because they are in a testing, pruning, or waiting season, but because they don't realize that they are the source of their difficulties. They aren't agreeing with God's word regarding their families, finances, health, and other vital aspects of their existence. Instead, they are unknowingly co-signing on satan's desires for them.

You're probably thinking this message doesn't apply to you. But let me ask you a question. Have you ever said "I'm dying" to express yourself when excited? That might be common slang, and yes, technically, you are dying because each person lives for a finite amount of time. However, does that word agree with the word of God for you? However, as our spoken words have power, why agree with satan's desires to cut your life short and prevent you from fulfilling God's purpose? Or have you accomplished what you were created to do? Remember Psalm 118:17 - I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done. Does the pronouncement that you are dying align with this verse?

That is merely one way many opt not to agree with God and thereby cheat themselves of the goodness and peace they are entitled to. Think about your finances. When you keep saying, "I don't have money," or "I'm broke," is it any surprise you don't have what you need? Sure, you look at your account, and the number staring back at you clearly indicates an absence of funds for the rest of your needs and wants. I'm not calling on you to ignore this reality. However, I am asking you to believe in your heart and head what Psalm 23:1 states, The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want (NKJV).

Believing and declaring that scripture, when your finances are low, while also believing that your Shepherd will provide, will do wonders. Why? Because you are agreeing with God's word and you are using your mouth to speak His plan for yourself. You are also applying your faith, which is the Believer's most powerful currency. In doing so, you agree with God and qualify for Job 22:21's promises - His peace and goodness. However, when you concur with satan that you don't have enough and don't speak God's word or even stop to think that He will fill the gaps in your needs, you close the door to His provision. And the only one who benefits from that is the devil.

I could go on about how the ways we speak and think sometimes align us with satan's desires rather than the thoughts and plans of the Lord for us. Thoughts and plans that are good, not evil (Jeremiah 29:11). The Lord wants you to know His word so that when things appear to be contrary to His plans and purposes, you are ready. Ready to stand on scripture, speaking it, with Godfidence, against anything designed to make you agree with satan. This requires being intentional in studying the Bible while also praying for understanding of what you are reading, so you are guided to His truths for your life. You can also receive wisdom about the lives of others and agree with His plans for them.

He has promised to provide wisdom when you ask (James 1:5). And when you pray for this, He will ensure you receive His Spirit to navigate the Bible and every area of your life. How can you be sure of this? Jesus taught that if we pray for the Holy Spirit, the Lord will not deny us this great gift (Luke 11:13). Don't forget, however, that Jesus is the only way to receive the Holy Spirit. Without making Christ your Lord and Savior, it is impossible to receive the Holy Spirit and have Him remain with you. You need God's Spirit to truly learn what God wants you to know. And without Him, you will sadly fall into the traps satan has laid along your way to make you agree with it instead of your Creator.

If you have yet to ask Jesus to come into your life, today is the day. Especially if you want the Holy Spirit to guide you so you stop agreeing with satan and consistently agree with the Lord. Only the Holy Spirit can help with this because, on your own, you are not equipped to juggle the myriad of factors and identify every scheme the enemy has to ensnare you. The Spirit of God is the stopgap measure empowered to help Believers stay on the path of righteousness. And when you make a mistake, He will reveal the error and teach you exactly how to break any legal rights the enemy could use against you based on prior agreement with it.

Don't let pride stop you from calling out for Jesus and asking Him to become your Savior in a practical way. A way that actually changes you and makes you godly and not just good. See the Altar Call below for more on this. Ask Jesus for the Holy Spirit. He promised this gift to all who would believe in Him (John 14:16-17). Then open your Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to open your mind to receive the deep truths it contains. Ask Him to help you become a person whose speech, thoughts, and actions reflect agreement with the Lord God Almighty.

As you read scriptures, pay attention to how God speaks. You will learn to speak more like His child and less like those Jesus said were like satan. He said they wanted to carry out its desires, and they acted and spoke in alignment with this (John 8:44). We are the children of God, and we receive help from our Father to carry out His concerns and not those of a defeated foe. God bless us and help us as we align with Him all the more, IJN, Amen.

Glorious God, thank You for this opportunity to honor You with not just our words but with our very lives.

Thank You for the chance to fellowship as Your word instructs in Hebrews 10:24-25 - And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, /not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Praise be to You, great Redeemer!

As we have gathered this day, we thank You that we got to agree with You and Your word. Remember Your promises of peace and goodness, good Lord, and pour them out on those of…

We learned to be mindful to agree with the Lord in all things. We have also learned that doing this by our strength is impossible, so we need the Holy Spirit. Above, there was an altar call to submit our lives to Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit.

If you have made the choice to do these things, I am ecstatic for you. If you haven't yet, I pray that you will do so soon.

For those who have called Jesus into their hearts, ask Him to help you so you consistently agree with the Lord. Jesus stands as your Advocate and Chief Intercessor before the Lord. He is our High Priest, able to stand in the…

Lord, I want to thank You for the answered prayers Your children are receiving. They waited on You, and Your word was fulfilled - those who wait on the Lord will not be disappointed and will receive strength (Isaiah 40:31).

God, You know the months and tears and prayers poured out at Your feet. Thank You for being faithful.

I stand now in the gap for others who are waiting on You. Strengthen them for their journey of waiting. May the season not be a waste in that they learn the lesson You wish to impart to them.

May they come out of the season stronger and their faith muscles bulked up. May they move forward armed with what You…
