Why God Reveals The Future: Courage - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) October 20, 2026
We've previously discussed this issue of God revealing the future to His people. At that time, we learned that He tells us and/or shows what's coming to build excitement. His aim is for us to want what He wants for us - His best. He also wants us to rely on Him through prayers, fasting, and praise until we get it.
But there are additional reasons why God would reveal His plans to us. One such reason is that, no matter what else may happen, we will be reassured by His promise and hold on in expectation.
We see that Paul had to do this in the Book of Acts. He was being transported to Rome, and the journey was chaotic. He and his fellow passengers were in a horrible storm, and they dumped food and cargo in the hope of not sinking. They almost died. However, God revealed to him that he and everyone else onboard would not die at sea (Acts 27:21-26).
That revelation encouraged him. He knew that even though it seemed like he and everyone on that vessel would lose their lives, that would not be the case. He knew that what God revealed to Him was the truth and would come to pass. We need to apply the same attitude at all times in our lives.

God doesn't just reveal our future to make us happy. He also tells us what's coming because He knows that tough times lie ahead and the devil will try to make us doubt what He's said. When we hold on to His truth and not what satan wants us to believe - even when there's a very dramatic scene that seems real - we shall stand firm, fixing our faces like flint because we have faith that what God said will come to pass. No matter what the devil throws our way.
Has God revealed something to you? Has He made you a promise? Can you find that promise in His word? Then take a deep breath and be encouraged. God’s word never returns void, and you can rest in that certainty. What He has spoken over your life carries His guarantee. Even when circumstances look uncertain, or progress feels slow, hold on. He is faithful to fulfill every promise He has made, and He will keep His word in His perfect timing.
We are taught in Hebrews 10:35 - So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. Power through, trusting God, who is faithful. He is at your side, regardless of the challenges you will face. And if you hold on to your faith in Him, that promise He revealed, that promise satan wanted you to not only doubt but disregard, will come forth with ease. You will testify as you see what the Lord has done, IJMN Amen.
