The Shield 2: Favor - Friday Praise & Pray (for others) June 6, 2025

We previously considered the Shield of Salvation and how it serves to protect the children of God. We learned that the shield of salvation requires an overt action - choosing Jesus as one's Lord and Savior and choosing to live by that choice all one's days.
Today, we consider another element of spiritual protection. Specifically, the Shield of Favor and what it affords those who wield it to the glory of God. Psalm 5:12 speaks about this, saying, Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
These sorts of people experience the favor of God surrounding them. Where others would struggle, they experience supernatural ease. What would take someone else years takes the favored person days, if not hours. Certain things will happen for them instantly, while other people must wait and still never experience such success. Doors that are typically closed shut open. They have access to people others could never imagine rubbing shoulders with. And it's all because God wields His favor around them like a shield.
The Shield of Favor, therefore, protects from disease, failure, mishaps, and much more. Every person should desire to be so blessed, and they can be, because God wants all people to live within His favor and grace in all things. Giving one's life to Christ and allowing the word and the Spirit of God to guide them triggers the Shield of Favor. Unlike the Shield of Salvation, this one requires God's active participation. It is He who keeps this weapon in place around a person.
Remember that the Shield of Favor is for the righteous. The wonderful thing is that God mercifully grants righteousness to many of us who are admittedly slacking in that department. It is for us to repent, accept this grace in faith, and increase our cooperation with Him. As we allow His word to sanctify us and His Spirit to remind us of what Jesus taught, making righteous choices will become more normal. By His grace, His favor surrounds us like a shield now and forever more, IJN Amen.

Hallelujah, Amen!!!
Another fellowship day has come to an end and we want to thank You Lord, for this grace! To You be all the glory. Thank You for life and mercy, whereby we can go our separate ways more knowledgeable of Your Shield of Favor and the fact that we are recipients. Thank You for this blessing. Thank You for answering our prayers.
Dear Lord, be glorified in our lives. May we not forget that You surround us and are always with us. May we allow You to guide us in all things so we remain blameless and continue to enjoy the gift of Your covering. Grace to do so and to please You always, IJMN, Amen.

We need God's favor. It makes all the difference in this life.
Consider what was said in today's message - "Remember that the Shield of Favor is for the righteous. As we allow His word to sanctify us and His Spirit to remind us of what Jesus taught us to do, making righteous choices will become more normal."
Let us take some time to ask for this great gift that belongs to the children of God.
Father, thank You for the gift…
Father, You are Almighty and All powerful. Thank You El Gibbor, our Mighty Man of War.
Leviticus 26:13 - I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians. I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk in uprightness.
I call on You to break the shackles upon Your people. Break the bars of iron, the yoke, keeping Your people bound. Be it in shame, fear, ill health, struggles in the mind, heartbreak, any and everything that You did not plant in them, God uproot it all, IJMN, Amen.
From JIR - Lord, I pray for children in broken homes. I pray that You wrap them in Your love and comfort them. I pray that they come to know You and that You stir their hearts to turn to You. I pray that You nurture them and bring them up to be in the presence of fellow believers and Your servants so that their faith and love and belief in You can be cultivated and strengthened. Lord please touch these ones and take away their hurt and tears and let them know that You are their everything and all they need. IJMN. Amen.
Good God, You are the Almighty. Nobody compares to You. Father, thank You for hearing my prayer for people that they come to a knowledge of You as You promised in Jeremiah 24:7. Thank You for giving people a desire for You. Thank You for whetting their appetites for more of You. Thank You for letting hearts clamor for You. Thank You for kindly pouring out Your Spirit on all mankind in accordance with Your word in Joel 2:28. Be glorified, Lord our Redeemer.
