The Naaman Blessing - Friday Praise & Pray (for others) October 23, 2026

What comes to mind when you hear the name 'Naaman'? For me, I'm reminded of how pride and preconceived notions can keep a person from receiving God's blessings. But there's so much more to his story. He was the Syrian war commander who went to Israel for healing from leprosy. Elisha told him to dip seven times in the Jordan, and when he did, he was healed.

But he wasn't just healed of his leprosy. 2 Kings 5:14 - So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.

Keep in mind that Naaman was a grown man who'd been in multiple battles. He likely had scarred skin from direct combat. In fact, we are told that his king liked him because he was a skilled fighter. Yet, he stepped out of the river with skin like that of a child. And God ensured that his miracle affected not only his physical body. He was transformed from within, as he came to believe in the Lord rather than the gods of his homeland and became a more humble man.

This experience reveals that when we go to God for healing in one area, He is more than able to bring His healing touch to other parts of our lives too. This makes sense because the Bible teaches that God does immeasurably more than what we imagine or pray for, according to the Spirit within us.

The Lord is calling His people to take hold of this blessing - the Naaman Blessing. This benefit is not only available when they need healing, but it is available in every situation where they need Him to step in and make things happen.

To receive this, we must seek Him earnestly. He said that when we do, we will find Him. Arguably, Naaman sought God but with pride in his heart. It wasn't until his travel companions cajoled him that he humbled himself to complete the task assigned by God's servant. And when he did, the results were far beyond his expectation.

A widescreen 16:9 promotional graphic for "The Naaman Blessing" set against a warm, light beige textured background (#ebded4) with subtle chevron patterning. The image is framed by a clean, minimalist double-line border with delicate, subtle corner filigree accents. At the top, the title reads "THE NAAMAN" in bold, 3D sand-gold capital serif letters with soft drop shadows. Directly underneath, the word "blessing" appears in a smooth, warm moss green script font. Positioned near the bottom is a light champagne-gold ribbon banner reading "PRAISE & PRAY (FOR OTHERS)" in dark capital text. Centered along the very bottom edge, small dark text lists the website and social media handles: "TheMiracleAlley.com/Blog @The_Miracle_Alley | @TheFunmi".

Can we humble ourselves before the Lord and seek Him earnestly? Or will we hold onto ego and pride as we come to Him? Can we come before Him not as someone we can use and take advantage of but as someone we are subject to and therefore approach with reverence?

When the latter is our understanding, we bring our problems to Him wholeheartedly - open to whatever He will say. We don't have backup plans in case God will 'fail.' We let go of our box of fear, choosing not to be anxious but instead to approach with thanksgiving as we present our issues. When we approach Him earnestly, we aren't being transactional.

Remember, Naaman knew nothing about God. He only went to Israel because he'd heard there was a prophet who could help him. He certainly didn't know Jesus and hadn't chosen Him to be his Lord and Savior. He didn't have any idea of the Holy Spirit. Yet, when he put his pride aside and fully submitted to the Lord's instruction, he received much more than he expected.

For those of us who have encountered Christ and have received our deposit of God's Spirit, we must know that what Naaman experienced is for us too. But even more so! Our God will go above and beyond for His children. He reserves His best for them.

What often stands in our way is the misunderstanding that we can take, take, and take from God without Him having something He wants from us. Naaman had to set aside his preconceived notions and submit to what God wanted in order to receive what he needed.

Can you do the same? Now is the time to figure out what God wants from you and how He wants to use you for His purpose. How do you fit into His kingdom plans? Naaman received his blessings because he submitted. When you do the same, you will surely experience the Naaman Blessing, and it shall be beyond what you could have expected.

ALTAR CALL

If you are yet to give your life to Christ, don't let this moment go by without doing so. And if you've backslidden and are living as you like instead of how God wants you to, now is the time to recommit.

It is time to repent and return to the Lord. It is time to commit yourself to living by His word and submit to having Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Look, the video below will do a better job explaining things than I can, and it's only 8 minutes long. Yup, there are no cliff notes, please just watch.

If you watched the video to the end and said the prayer at the end,…
