Double Restoration & Prisoners of Hope - Friday Praise & Pray (for others) October 30, 2026
A lot of us are praying for restoration. And likely many more than that are asking God for double restoration. But do you know that you need to have hope to receive double restoration?
In a world where darkness and disappointment pervade, it can be very hard to be hopeful. We've all experienced difficulties and watched our childlike expectations and sense of anticipation be dashed to pieces by people or life's circumstances.
And yet, the word of God is clear. Zechariah 9:12 - Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you. This scripture reveals that there is a direct line between our ability to have hope and the receipt of God's double restoration promise.
Notice that the people in this verse are called "prisoners of hope"? As believers in Christ, we must become prisoners of hope - those so sold out to God, His promises, and instructions that we hold onto our expectations with resolute faith and determination to see them fulfilled. There's no room for doubt or disbelief in God because we've seen Him move before and know He will move again.

We are slaves to the Lord, those subject to His will. And His will is for us to have hope, no matter what things look like. Hope in Him who can do what seems impossible to others but is nothing for Him to accomplish.
If you are praying to God to bring forth a double restoration in your life, take a moment to examine yourself. Are you a hopeful person or a glass half-empty sort? Some may think it is wise to be practical in their thinking, and that isn't wrong per se. But remember the word tells us we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Hence, there are times when we are called to put our logic and practicality aside, believing in "the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not" (Romans 4:17). In those situations, allowing logic to rule our mindset becomes sin. It breeds disbelief, which robs us of the Godfidence and faith needed to leap, regardless of what lies ahead.
And if we can't hope in God and walk in faith that He is faithful, we will surely miss out on the double restoration we have cried out for. So, allow God to remove whatever stands as a barrier toward having hope. Ask Him to do this for you. And allow Him to shape what you hope for because that ensures that your hopes will never be dashed. God bless you!

ALTAR CALL
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, don't let this moment go by without doing so. And if you've backslidden and are living as you like instead of how God wants you to, now is the time to recommit.
It is time to repent and return to the Lord. It is time to commit yourself to living by His word and submit to having Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Look, the video below will do a better job explaining things than I can, and it's only 8 minutes long. Yup, there are no cliff notes, please just watch.
If you watched the video to the end and said the prayer at the end,…
