We recently focused on the need to Put God's Concerns First. In that message, we also learned that when we prioritize our human concerns over those of the Lord, there is a risk of being used by satan to speak or act contrary to God's will.
Today, we examine this issue further by looking at Job's wife. Her story begins when the devil sought a human to torment, and God recommended His servant Job, knowing that he would never break under the pressure the enemy would place on him. The Bible tells us that satan took Job's wealth, children, and health. Job's friends came to commiserate with him. However, they soon deemed their friend guilty of having done something to deserve the disasters he'd faced. Through it all, Job maintained that he hadn't sinned against God.
The Book of Job also mentions his wife, although she is not given a name. As her husband endured horrible sores, we are told that she encouraged him to "[c]urse God and die!” (Job 2:9). It is important to realize that these were arguably the words of a woman speaking from a place of great pain.
We can't forget that she lost ten children in a freak accident. She also watched her husband's wealth and reputation go down the drain. Then, she saw her husband become sick, his body covered in pus-filled sores. All that loss, pain, and having to care for a sick husband produced frustration and impatience in her. All of which was a perfect recipe for her to become satan's mouthpiece. Think about it, do you think she would have said what she did under normal circumstances?

And we must realize that when the 'right' buttons are pushed, we too could become like Job's wife - a man/woman pushed by grief, pain, and trauma to say something that glorifies the enemy instead of the God who loves us.
This is why it is so important to seek out and maintain an ever-deepening relationship with the Lord. You need to position ourselves at the well to draw from the everlasting water Jesus provides. Remember the Jericho Moments when He brought down walls and gave you reason to testify. What about the miraculous ways His Holy Spirit kept you safe? These and other situations build the connection that will restrict what you say when things go wrong in your life.
Consistent Bible study will teach you what you should or shouldn't even allow yourself to even think in the tough moments. Weekly and scriptural fasting will also help you to accept and receive the Holy Spirit's guidance to walk in godly humility and reverence for the Lord. That intimate relationship will enable you to hear God speaking through whatever vessel He chooses and will convict you to submit to His instruction.
These are some of the Kingdom Keys God gave His children so that they don't stray from the path of righteousness just because things don't go their way. They also help to keep His people from unknowingly becoming satan's mouthpiece, the way Peter and Job's wife did. Because when that happens, an individual can go from just saying to doing satan's bidding. May we all allow the Lord to have His way and place a guard on our lips so our words are never worthless but worthwhile for the glory of God our King, IJN, Amen.

CLOSING PRAYER
Father, thank You for another opportunity to gather to Your glory. Thank You for grace and everything needed to be here today. Be Thou lifted high in each of us and through us, IJN, Amen.
As we go our separate ways for the week, I pray for each participant that they will experience You in increased measure. That Your word and presence will be tangible in their lives. That they will come to a deeper knowledge of You and enjoy the privilege of knowing You intimately. For You crave a closer relationship with those You made in Your image and I agree with You, Lord and say Amen IJN.
LAST 10 MINUTES
Have you ever done what Job's wife did? Did you ever allow your tough circumstances cause you to think or speak wrongly about the Lord? Did you ever encourage anyone to do the same?
If so, now is the time to tell God sorry. But don't stop there, commit to never do it again and ask the Lord to help you. He is the God who answers us, so if you pray for divine help to never do so again, His Holy Spirit will have to help you.
Let's pray about it, shall we?
Dear Lord, thank You for being so concerned about us that You would teach us how satan tries to take advantage of us.…
Lord, the early church shared what they had with one another. They took care of their fellow believers in a way that stunned onlookers.
Father, I want to thank You for Christians who are following in that great tradition today. God, it is not easy, and yet, they give tirelessly, sharing from their meager earnings, time, items, or other resources because of their love for Christ.
God, I pray for these ones that they shall enjoy the promise contained in Psalm 37:25 - I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. May they experience Your 1000-enerations blessing. May they and their descendants enjoy Your great favor everywhere…
Thank You God for the opportunity to come before You with these petitions. Glory be to Your Holy Name.
Lord, it is You who created the world. It is You who have absolute control over it. We know that our choices have contributed to what we see and experience but still, You said You will show mercy and compassion to those whom You will bestow those to.
Thus, I call on You to show mercy and compassion to those who have experienced great weather disasters. Here in the US there have been flooding. Fires have raged here, in Canada and elsewhere. Black rain keeps Hong Kong, Korea and other parts of Asia at a standstill. Volcanoes and hurricanes burst across…
Good God, You are the Almighty. Nobody compares to You. Father, thank You for hearing my prayer for people that they come to a knowledge of You as You promised in Jeremiah 24:7. Thank You for giving people a desire for You. Thank You for whetting their appetites for more of You. Thank You for letting hearts clamor for You. Thank You for kindly pouring out Your Spirit on all mankind in accordance with Your word in Joel 2:28. Be glorified, Lord our Redeemer.
Now and forever more, IJMN, Amen.
