Pray For Others - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) September 15, 2020

Updated: Jan 12, 2022

Glory be to God! This is the day He has made. Let us be glad and rejoice in it.

Tuesday's here and it's time for us to join in fellowship to exalt the Lord and act as mighty intercessors.

So often, we spend so much time pleading with God to do one thing or another for us - I for one know I have a long prayer list. However, we have a God who knows all we need even before we ask Him according to Matthew 6:8.

As such, can't we give Him a break on our requests? Can't we use that time to pray for others instead? I know I'm learning to do this more and more. Learning to be like Esther who risked death, yet sought the Lord's face for her people and boldly made a request of the most powerful man on earth at the time. God showed her favor and her faith prevented a genocide.

Despite knowing that His death was coming, Jesus still had enough compassion and love for others to focus on their needs. In Luke 22:31-32, we are told He said, "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

A lot of us don't trust we can be intercessors because we're still waiting on things we've prayed for in our lives. Indeed, I've noticed that when I pray for the needs of others, those prayers tend to be answered quicker.

That doesn't deter me though, it instead acts as confirmation that the words that flow from my mouth are powerful. Look at 2 Corinthians 10:4 - The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

That's what we're doing when we stand in the gap as intercessors for other people. We break chains, crush shackles, and rip off blindfolds, freeing others from the devil's clutches. All in Jesus' Name.

I hope I don't have to do too much convincing and that the Holy Spirit will compel you to don your battle armor and join in today's Praise & Pray where we're going to get dirty with the enemy and battle for others in prayer.

God bless and see you at Noon EST.
