The Entrepreneur's Mindset - Friday Praise & Pray (for others) October 2, 2026

Have you ever listened to a truly successful business person tell their rags-to-riches story? Typically, they share how they struggled with prior ventures that failed. There is another thing these people all have in common. They say that those 'defeats' provided lessons they needed to eventually land on the business idea that turned everything around for them.

We need to have a similar perspective as Christians when we review the 'dips' in our journey. Those difficulties we encountered weren't meant to destroy us. They weren't meant to make us give up on God and walk away from Him.

Those trying times were designed to give us lessons and experience that should serve as stepping stones to our spiritual and physical success. Yes, the 'defeats' lead to victory. Alas, when we think of the problems we face, far too many of us see them as a sign that God is unfair or wicked. We might be tempted to think He doesn't love us. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

If Abraham had thought God was wicked during his wait for a child, he would never have served the Lord. He would have given up before becoming someone God trusted with the unsearchable things. He never would have been called His friend. He would never have had Isaac if he didn't wait on the Lord for the promises. And he would never have been mentioned in the Hall of Faith (Hebrews 11).

God understands that the pain of the wait can be hard for us humans. Yet, He uses waiting to train us so we learn perseverance and hold on to hope. That way we don't miss out on what's on its way, the success guaranteed to us as His children who believe in Jesus and have His Spirit.

We have to hold on to God's promises. We need to be resolute, refusing to fail or abandon our walk with Him. A dogged entrepreneur's mindset is therefore required - understanding that each step forward with the Lord leads to success. Even those stumbling steps are a part of the process. It is only those who trust in the Lord who will succeed (Proverbs 28:25). So keep going in faith. God bless you.

ALTAR CALL

If you are yet to give your life to Christ, don't let this moment go by without doing so. And if you've backslidden and are living as you like instead of how God wants you to, now is the time to recommit.

It is time to repent and return to the Lord. It is time to commit yourself to living by His word and submit to having Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Look, the video below will do a better job explaining things than I can, and it's only 8 minutes long. Yup, there are no cliff notes, please just watch.

If you watched the video to the end and said the prayer at the end,…
