The First Praise & Pray (for others) - February 18, 2020

Hi everyone. I'd like to invite you to join me in a little thing I call Praise & Pray.

Myself and a small group spend an hour focused on God and the children of God once a week on Tuesdays at noon (EST). We don't do it on LSA but I've been led to do it here today.

It's really easy. The first 25 minutes are spent praising God in song and dance. Then the next 25 minutes are spent praying for others. After that, ten minutes are spent however you like. Some use those 10 minutes for quiet reflection, listening to praise music...whatever it is you want to do with God as a focus.

_______________

At work? Don't worry. You can still participate in Praise & Pray.

If you've got headphones, just play some praise music in the background and bob your head along to it. The music will elevate your soul and get you in a place of praise that's pleasing to the Most High God. When the Prayer section comes up, you simply have to pray quietly for the people in your life, at your job, that stranger you saw earlier in the day and even the entire country or the world. God knows, the entire planet needs intercessory prayer.

I think you can do this so, let me post a couple song suggestions so we can get started.

_______________

Just tell God thank you. We don't do it enough. He has an abundance of love for us and it is that grace that gets us through everything.

_______________

It's almost time to start praying for others. Is there someone in your life who you know has a specific need? Take it to the Maker.

If you can't think of anyone right now, consider praying for the world. If you watch the news (or don't), there's no doubt that God's children are in need of Him and His miracles.

The Bible instructs us to help the poor, the sick, the weary, the oppressed, the widowed and the orphaned. You can do so via intercessory prayer by asking God to meet the needs of these individuals. Ask God to help those who are desperate to see His mighty right hand in their lives. Ask God to send the Holy Spirit that His children may witness signs and wonders and be transformed.

_______________

For the next 25 minutes, you can place the people you love before Him and even strangers. Just focus on others. Be an intercessor. It is your heritage.

Nehemiah interceded for the Israelites, praying to God to forgive the people and grant him favor before Artaxerces - a foreign king. God granted him that favor and Nehemiah took a foreign kings goods and soldiers to go rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. He helped his people get right with God and find their redemption.

_______________

Be an intercessor. Remember, you have been given authority over all snakes and scorpions and all power of the enemy. Claim your power to transform the lives of others. The more you pray for others, the more God does for you because He has instructed us to seek first His kingdom and his righteousness in so doing, we receive so much more.

I know life seems tough and we worry about our own circumstances. However, God knows what you need before you do. Seek his kingdom first - praying for others is one key way to do this - and watch God meet your needs through unimaginable ways. He literally will put pressure on the very systems of man and the universe to favor you because you have obeyed His instructions to chase Him.

There's got to be someone you know in need of prayer. Take this time to mention them to God.

_______________

I praise God that you could take the time to participate in today's Praise & Pray (February 18, 2020). May His forever blessings be in abundance upon yourself and your loved ones now and forever more. Amen.

I'll be back next week and hope to see you.

God bless and keep you.
