Ignorance is not bliss no matter how many times you hear that common saying. In fact, it is a lie the devil uses to keep God's creations bound and shackled in the darkness.
Do you know what God thinks about ignorance? To the Lord, it brings destruction upon people. In fact, the scripture states in Hosea 4:6 - my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Yes, that 'ignorance' which you feel is harmless, actually does a lot more harm than you imagined.
But what is it that we the children of God are ignorant about? The first thing is His Word. We don't refer to our life manual and so the devil has its way with our lives creating setbacks and problems that God never intended us to experience.
Unfortunately, because we don't read the Bible we are also ignorant of His instructions. Instructions that if we follow, take us out of the enemy's clutches. Instructions which, if obeyed, open us up to the glorious blessings described in Amos 9:13-15 which states,
“Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel:
“They’ll rebuild their ruined cities. They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine. They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables. And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land. They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.”
God, your God, says so.
Satan is having a field day preying on our ignorance. It loves the fact we don't know how powerful we are just because we were made in the image of God. It loves that we don't know our rights and privileges as God's favorite creation. It loves that we don't understand the authority we wield when we pray on issues. And so, the enemy distracts with one thing or the other. We're too tired to look at life's manual or if we crack it open, we fall blissfully asleep in seconds. Mind you, we could stay awake all night to binge on our favorite Netflix series. (Please tell me I'm not alone here!)
Ignorance. It seems like any other term but it carries enough weight to condemn those who embody the word. May the Lord release us from the bondage of ignorance. May He, in His unlimited understanding, grant us grace to study His Word more and follow the instructions contained therein. And, may that become the starting point to a deeper knowledge of Him and an intimacy with Him, IJN we pray, Amen.
Please join us as we fellowship together for an hour during today's Praise & Pray (for others). Come ready with your reasons for thanking God (even if it's just because He is the Almighty), people/situations/places you want to lift up in prayer, and a heart willing to honor the Lord. I pray you will be well-blessed, IJMN, Amen.
