Are You Truly A Christian? - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) March 3, 2026

During a discussion with some of His fellow Jews in John 8, Jesus challenged their sense of who they were. They called themselves the children of Abraham, but Jesus pointed out that while they were Abraham's genetic descendants, they were nowhere near him spiritually. He instead told them that they were more like their real father, satan.

He explained His assessment in John 8:37-39 - I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word. /I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father.” /“Abraham is our father,” they answered. “If you were Abraham’s children,” said Jesus, “then you would do what Abraham did.

He pointed out that they wanted to kill Him for saying what God instructed Him to say. Things that…

No matter how blemished we are, Jesus died on the cross to erase every sin and wash us clean over and over again.

We take advantage of that great gift by acknowledging His sacrifice, proclaiming Him our Savior, and praying in His name for forgiveness of our sins

Now is your opportunity to do just that and get baptized in the Spirit (John 3:5).

So if your heart is open, plus if, as in Psalm 42:2, your soul thirsts for God and you want to appear in His presence, why don't you say the following prayer?

Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and repent for my sins. And I believe that you are the Son of God. I believe that you came, you died, you rose again, and you paid the price for my sins. Today, I accept the new life, today, I accept the Holy Spirit. Come dwell in me, make Your home in me. I will never be the same again. In Jesus's Name, Amen.

Praise God and welcome to the household of the Lord. For you have to have Jesus in you in order to have God the Father (John 14:6).

Please let the Lord transform you. He loves you as you are and welcomes you just that way, but He will change you. I'd be doing you a disservice if I didn't let you know. My recommendation is that you let Him have His way and bow to the changes He will bring your way.

Don't Backslide - Friday Praise & Pray (for others) February 27, 2026

Et tu, Brutus? Those are some of the most famous words ever spoken, and they were said by Julius Caesar as someone he trusted took his turn to stab him to death in an organized assassination.

Long before Julius Caesar cried out those last words, Jesus Christ of Nazareth was forced to ask His disciples a similarly tough question. John 6:67 - “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.

That inquiry arose because many disciples turned away after He taught them that His flesh and blood would give them life (John 6:53-58). His audience didn't understand the symbolism of what we now know as Holy Communion. They likely believed He was encouraging them to consume human flesh and blood, both of which were not permitted by the Laws of Moses.

As people walked away, He asked if those closest to Him would do the same.…

A Pathway To Answered Prayers - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) February 24, 2026

Jesus taught His disciples that if they prayed in His name, God would answer them (John 16:23). He also said something amazing in John 16:26-27 - In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

He promised that because they believed in Him, God would love them, and as a result, He wouldn't need to plead for anything on their behalf. Instead, God would be triggered to move for them because they loved Him. If we believe Jesus wasn't a liar, then we must take Him at His word that the disciples' love for Him would be enough to answer their prayers.

And if we believe this, then we must ask ourselves certain questions. First, are we disciples of Jesus?…

Hypocrites: Unmarked Graves - Friday Praise & Pray (for others) February 20, 2026

Jesus reserved some of His sternest criticisms for the Pharisees. While it is easy to be entertained by how He 'clocked' and 'shaded' them, we can never overlook the key lessons those interactions contained. They contain takeaways that we must recognize and put into practice to faithfully serve the Lord.

Let us consider what Jesus told a group of Pharisees in Luke 11:44 - “Woe to you, because you are like unmarked graves, which people walk over without knowing it.” I've previously failed to give this warning adequate attention, but during a recent Bible study, these words lit up, and I couldn't ignore them.

Old Testament context is needed to better understand. Numbers 19:16 states that anyone who touches a grave, human bone, or corpse is defiled for seven days. A defiled person is considered unclean and shouldn't be around others or even touch things others will use so as not…

Hypocrites: The Pharisees - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) February 17, 2026

The Bible can be uncomfortable to read. A lot of what is in it acts as a plumb line, a measuring stick of sorts that reveals how much more we have to do to live up to God's word. From that perspective, it is understandable why many don't want to spend time with it.

Yet, I thank God that He reveals to redeem. He never highlights our shortcomings to make us feel inadequate. No, He highlights what we need to change so we repent and know He's ready to help us achieve it. At all points, He wants us to know He is by our side and will be the accountability partner we need to become better believers who keep growing and producing for Him.

With this in mind, we turn to Luke 11, where Jesus spoke to the Pharisees. Luke 11:43 - “Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the most important…

The Key To Fruitfulness - Friday Praise & Pray (for others) February 13, 2026

Fruitfulness, for a Christian, can seem like a daunting expectation. I know I once wondered if I could only be fruitful if I stood on a corner evangelizing or brought everyone I knew to church on Sundays. While these steps are fruitful, let us look at what Jesus said to better understand what is needed.

He said in John 15:4 - Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.

Remain in Me. That's the starting point for being fruitful to God. But what does that mean, exactly? Well, the rest of John 15:4 reveals that we must depend on Jesus and strive to be a part of Him. We are to be rooted in Him, not committing spiritual adultery. And to do this, to remain in Christ,…

And now, please read my annual Be careful on Valentine's Day message.

All you singles planning on doing thangs for Valentine's Day, may I remind us all that the word of God has called on everyone to keep the marriage bed undefiled (Hebrews 13:4). That means, don't fornicate, i.e. have sex with someone who isn't your spouse. (Don't act like you don't know what this means, okay.) You are somebody's wife/husband, and it is your job to keep your future marriage bed undefiled today, even before you formally step into the covenant of marriage.

Please don't do what is displeasing to God, even though xesual immorality tends to be expected by many on February 14th. Keep ya legs closed, keep your pants up (and belts buckled, boys), keep your hands (and other parts) to yourself, and love up on God to receive His best!

And yes, I am speaking from experience.

God is merciful and forgives because He loves us, but don't you want to not end up crying and begging for forgiveness? You won't have to if you apply God's word and don't let your flesh get you into trouble.

Just a thought from me. God bless you and keep you!

Don't Be An Achan - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) February 10, 2026

Are you familiar with Achan? He was one of the Israelites who made it into the Promised Land when Joshua was judge and priest over his nation. The Lord sent Joshua and his fighting men into the City of Ai, and although they should have conquered the city, 36 Israelite men died (Joshua 7).

Joshua was shocked by this defeat. After all, the Lord had told him in Joshua 1:5-6 - No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. /Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. That promise had taken him and his men into the miraculous victory in Jericho with no lives lost.

So, what went wrong during the battle…

Are You Hypercritical? - Friday Praise & Pray (for others) February 6, 2026

I used to love watching fashion critics years ago. They would break down why a person's outfit shone by revealing the influence behind certain style decisions and highlighting tips on how to style different body types. They'd discuss the significance of certain colors and how to tell stories through clothing. It was all harmless and educational fun until it became customary for fashion critics to say mean things. All of a sudden, it wasn't just about the clothing but about how things were said to catch attention, increase viewer interaction, and go viral. That often led to criticism veiled as 'shade' and insults.

And that is the issue with hypercriticism. It goes beyond what is necessary in the expression of an opinion. When being hypercritical, a person goes beyond pointing out what's wrong to take a dig and say hurtful or insulting things. This often happens during our in-person or…
